Armenia going to deepen political dialogue with EU

Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian who is currently in Brussels met with Javier Solana, High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union, the RA MFA press office reports. Discrimination Claim at L.A. Times

Los Angeles Times Managing Editor Doug Frantz is facing accusations of discrimination for refusing to run a report about the Armenian genocide written by Mark Arax, a seasoned LAT writer of Armenian origin.  Frantz claims Arax was biased in his take on the issue, but Armenian community leader Harut Sassounian says there’s a much bigger story behind Frantz’s move. Again George Bush did not call events of 1915 as genocide

George BushU.S. President George Bush in his annual April 24 speech did not use the word “genocide” again. George Bush’s statement particularly reads as follows, “Each year on this day, we pause to remember the victims of one of the greatest tragedies of the 20th century, when as many as 1.5 million Armenians lost their lives in the final years of the Ottoman Empire, many of them victims of mass killings and forced exile. I join my fellow Americans and Armenian people around the world in commemorating this tragedy and honoring the memory of the innocent lives that were taken. Armenian Genocide - April 24, 1915 to 2007 - 92 Years of Denial

During World War I, the Young Turk political faction of the Ottoman Empire sought the creation of a new Turkish state, extending into Central Asia. Those promoting the ideology called “Pan Turkism” (creating a homogenous Turkish state) saw Turkey’s Armenian population as an obstacle to the realization of that goal. During the Armenian Genocide (1915-1923), the Young Turk Government systematically forced 1.5 million Armenians out of their ancestral homeland in present-day Turkey and annihilated them. U.S. Congress Has Recognized Armenian Genocide Still In 1973

The United States Congress has recognized the Armenian Genocide long ago, the H. Res. 106 only confirms this historical fact and calls on President Bush to use this term in his annual April 24 address,” “Hay Dat” office head Giro Manoyan stated to a press conference in Yerevan. “Today we are participating in a glamorous ceremony honoring Karen Demirchyan, one of the outstanding figures of post-soviet Armenia,” RA Defense Minister Serge Sargsyan announced at the inauguration of the museum after Karen Demirchyan.

Regular Shootings in Yerevan

Today, Yerevan faced its regular shootings. This time the victim was Aram Vardanyan, authority known as “Vstrechi Aper”.

At the sight of an explosive shell, his friend and he tried to defend themselves with gun shootings.

As a result, a person got wounded and a child was injured. Due to our information, Aram Vardanyan is safe and sound.
