All About Lancome Cosmetics

Information about the Lancome line of cosmetics.

Armand Petitjean created the Lancome perfumery in 1935. He chose the name, Lancome after visiting the castle Le Chateau de Lancome. The roses that were growing between the stones of the ruined castle inspired him to use the rose as his company logo. He felt that they epitomized the feminine beauty of women.

He started the company with a collection of five new fragrances that were introduced at the Universal Exhibition in Brussels. He won a prize for his creations and his reputation grew around the world. His success spurred him on to expand. Today Lancome not only offers high quality perfumes, but makeup and skin care products as well.

Lancome products were introduced to the United States in 1950. Their products are available in more than 163 countries, on all seven continents. They continue to hold the reputation of producing high quality products by maintaining strict standards and the development of new concepts for beauty products.

Armand Petitjean’s dream was to obtain great fame for his company, and his beloved country of France. Lancome cosmetics have achieved this and more. They continue to develop new products while simultaneously producing many popular favorites of yesterday.

Lancome employs more than 2,700 researchers and scientists who are constantly looking for ways to enhance their products. Their products are dermatologist, ophthalmologist, and safety tested to be gentle. All Lancome cosmetics are tested by volunteers before being offered to the public. They also strive to protect the environment when producing their products. They use only the best ingredients and even their packaging is designed, not only for ease of use, but also safety. Lancome does not test their products on animals.

Lancome carries a full line of fragrances along with skin care, hair care, sun and body care, makeup, accessories and gift sets. They have products for every skin type, in colors to make the rainbow envious. Their product line is constantly being updated to keep up with the latest fashions and trends.

Lancome is now working with the dermatologist, Dr. Tina Alster. Together they have created a skin care system called, Resurface Peel. Resurface Peel is a peel, designed to be used at home, to remove the dull outer layer of your facial skin. It can be used on all skin types to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and to renew texture and a healthy glow to the skin. It is designed to be gentle but if you have any known skin conditions such as, eczema, rosacea, or severe acne, or if you are using any medication for your skin, you should consult with your doctor before using it. You should also not use the product if you have been artificially tanning recently, or have just undergone dermabrasion at a doctor’s office. For best results, you need to follow the products directions carefully.

Lancome sponsors an annual corporate camp for Girl’s Inc., designed to inspire young women to build a better future. The program encourages girls ages 14 through 18 from across the nation, to develop a new product for women. The winners attend a week long corporate camp where they are taken through all phases of research, development and marketing at Lancome headquarters.

Lancome cosmetics can be found online and at fine makeup counters all over the world.
